Repeat after me/Akin

My mind has almost been
assaulted into feeding her.
[My mind has almost been
assaulted into feeding her.]

You think I can’t spell.
[You think I can’t spell.]

You think I’m anal.
[You think I’m anal.]

You think I’ve been through rape.
[You think I’ve been through rape.]

You are trying to be like me.
[You are trying to be like me.]

You have become like the voice at the back of my head that I can’t shake off.
[You have become like the voice at the back of my head that can’t shake off.]

From some people, try as you may, you get no respite.
[From some people, try as you may, you get no respite.]

You are a persistent gnawing parasite that feeds off me constantly..
[You are a persistent gnawing parasite that feeds off me constantly.]

This isn’t my fault.
[This isn’t my fault].

Where would you be if it weren’t for me.
[Where would you be if it weren’t for me.]

You are ignorant.
[Encore].

I could go on,
and you seem to be
deriving a depraved sort of
gormandising pleasure in this,
Keen, as I am.
Generous, as I am.
Everything unlike you.

And I’m sure that this happens to a lot of people
whose voices are stifled-
beneath what is popular and heard.

Ah, how everyone just tends to the panderer.
everything else just seems to subsume itself into her.
like a vortex she absorbs all of us.
she needs all our attention.
And, thus empowered by our desire and simple dwelling,
she will become
all there is,
a model for all to copy.

I’m going to resist.
Because in spelling it out,
I will overcome.
And validate what would
have been really difficult to articulate.

You see it’s really the unseeing,
insensitive, ignorant, blundering and decadent, careless, inchoate and uncaring junta who is at fault.
I will not let myself go under.
